David Richard Kinnear, 60 of Wanamingo passed away peacefully at his home on March 5, 2018.
Dave was born on July 8, 1957 in Rochester to William and Grace (Schwartz) Kinnear. He graduated from Mayo High School in 1976. Shortly after graduation he moved to Wyoming to work in the oil fields with his brother Robert. Dave moved back to Rochester in the early 1980’s and began working at Dooley’s Pub in Southeast Rochester, which later became McMurphy’s/Aquarius, which he managed. He was the head of security and the lead bouncer for many years. Later, after moving to Wanamingo, he worked for Treasure Island Casino in security and maintenance along with property management in Wanamingo. Dave was an outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and watching movies. He was known by many as “Big Dave” at McMurphy’s.
He is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, a brother, and a niece.
He is survived by his three children, Carrie Ahles, Nicholas Kinnear, Autumn Kinnear; two grandchildren, Manuel and Brynlee Ahles; his twin sister, Debra (Ricardo) Gutierrez; his brother-in-law, Terry Theel; two nephews, Joe and Jordan; and four nieces, Destiny, Dakotah, Cheyanne and Christina.
A memorial gathering for Dave will be held on Sunday, March 11, 2018 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home.
