Frances Della (Turner) Drexler, 95, of Rochester, MN passed away on March 4, 2018 at Health East Nursing Home, Rochester, MN.
Frances was born on September 29, 1922 on a farm in rural Lanesboro, the fourth of five daughters to Claude and Olive (Milne) Turner. She attended grade school at Amherst Township and went on to graduate from Canton High School, Canton, MN with the Class of 1939. Frances attended Winona College where she earned her teaching degree. She taught in a country school for a short time. She moved to Rochester, MN where she worked at the Rochester Dairy as a secretary and later at Professional Instruments Company when she retired in 1983.
On June 3, 1948, she married William P. Drexler at The Church of St. John the Evangelist in Rochester, MN. The couple moved to the family farm, east of Rochester, where they raised their four children. After the death of her husband, Frances moved to Rochester where she resided until the fall of 2015.
Frances was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church for over 60 years and was an active member in their Rosary Society for many years. She had a deep faith and would always have a “prayer in her pocket” to recite before meals with her family.
Frances was one of the kindest and gentlest souls and loved by everyone who knew her. She loved to cook and entertain her family, and always made the occasion special. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband; and her four sisters and brothers-in-law, Eleanor (Rev. Orrin) Moore, Lois (Conrad) Peterson, Marge (Warren) Knudsen, and Mary (Dale) Hahn.
She is survived by her children, Steven (Corrine) Drexler, Mary (Jim) Adams, Tom (Doreen) Drexler, and Diane (Steve) Schellhammer; grandchildren, Chad (Tasha) Adams, Cole (Sarah) Adams, Stacy (Brandon) Hradecky, Angela (Theron) Berg, Ben Schellhammer, Tara (Jon) Johnson, and Tracy Schellhammer; along with seven great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
