Anna Marie Ryan Butlin, 93, died peacefully in her home Monday, April 19, 2021, surrounded by her family. Anna Marie was born June 19, 1927 in Zumbro Falls Minnesota to Joseph and Mary Ryan. After high school she moved to Montana with her cousin / best friend, Olivia Funk, where the two enjoyed learning the culture. She moved back to Minnesota to marry the love of her life, Elton L Butlin (fondly known as Curley). Anna married Curley May 18, 1949 at St Francis Catholic Church in Rochester and found happiness with him for a wonderful 70 years. Anna enjoyed working at the Town House Restaurant, Michael’s, Waters Conley, Crenlo, and retired after working a long career at the Mayo Clinic in the business office. Anna loved camping, boating, snowmobiling, dancing and most of all spending time with her family. Her faith was her source of strength.
She was survived by her four children, Jerry (Mary) Butlin, Connie (Larry) Lexvold, Gail (Terry) Storing and David (Marcy) Butlin. She is also survived by her nine grandchildren, who she dearly loved, Annie Booth, Abigail Kozitza, Emily Nemecek, Ben and Colin Storing, Whitney and Jesse Butlin, Lindsey Carpenter and Tracy Basse; her ten great grandchildren, Juliet, Elton, Lilly, River, Rex, Ava, Raela, Gretta, Hayden and Harper and brother George Ryan.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband; and four brothers, Percy, Stanley, Bill (Ryan), and George Englehart.
The Memorial Service for Anna Marie Butlin will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, April 24, 2021 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with a luncheon immediately following at the Rochester Event Center, 7333 Airport View Drive SW. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday April 23, 2021 in River Chapel and one-hour prior to the service on Saturday.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be designated to Season’s Hospice.
