Marlene Ann Urban, 80, of Rochester passed away on Saturday November 28, 2020 at St. Marys Hospital.
Marlene was born March 8, 1940 in Chatfield, MN to Wayne and Mildred (Gathje) Burke. She graduated from John Marshall High School in 1958. On April 6, 1963 she married Vernon W. Urban Jr. Vernon died on September 11, 2019. Marlene was a lifelong member of South East Rochester and her and Vernon raised two daughters. Marlene was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church.
In her younger years, she was an Elvis Presley groupie (or wanted to be). Vern and Marlene love to ride their Harley Davidson motorcycles. They also enjoyed hunting and spending time together outdoors with each other. She liked to garden, can the fresh vegetables, and do all other sorts of labor intensive work. In her later years, she was one of the founders of a book club that lasted for many years and was an avid reader. You could see her out and about on her scooter through South East Rochester.
She is survived by her two daughters, Kim (James Kame) Urban of Chandler, Arizona, and Kelly Stevens of Rochester, MN. She is also survived by her sister Charlotte Saillors of Pine Island, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm Monday, December 7, 2020 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Rochester, with Rev. Adam Koglin officiating. Visitation will be held at 2:30 pm at the church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Rochester.
