Mrs. Phon Ngath, age 79, of Rochester, MN, formerly of Kapot, Cambodia, died Monday, February 10, 2020 at her residence. Phon was born March 2, 1940 in Kapot, Cambodia to Tanh and Ngath.
In 1980, Mrs. Ngath married Ong Uong in Thailand on the border of Cambodia. In July of 1986 the couple moved to Rochester, MN where they made their home together until February 2020.
Phon loved gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with her grandchildren. She was an excellent housewife.
Phon is survived by her husband, Ong Uong of Rochester; daughter, Linda (David) Taem of Rochester; son, Jonathan Uong of Rochester; half-brother, I. Sinnas (Mariya Kok) of Rochester; one half-sister, C. Sam of Rochester; and three granddaughters, Phallika, Phallynitra, and Shovannitra.
The funeral service for Phon will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester.
Memorials are preferred to Phon’s family.
