Victor Curtis Ramsey, 74, passed away peacefully at Mayo Clinic Hospital – St. Marys Campus on October 16, 2016.
Victor was born February 4, 1942, to Ralph and Myrtle Ramsey and grew up in Preston, MN. He attended Preston High School until joining the U.S. Navy in 1962, where he spent four years aboard the USS Alstede. Victor was currently a member of the American Legion Post #92 in Rochester.
He married Bonnie Berge on September 9, 1967, in Lanesboro, MN. They made their home in Rochester, where he worked for Marigold Foods for many years. After retiring from Marigold, he did custodial work at Apache Mall, Pax Christi Catholic Church, Wehrenberg Theater, and Trademart Furniture.
Victor enjoyed bow hunting, fishing, watching football, and listening to polka music. He was also an amazing pool player and played league pool for many years.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bonnie; his daughter, Sonja (Clayton) Leaming; his son, Chad; three granddaughters, Mikayla, Harley-Jo, and Kylie; and one great-granddaughter, Brinley. He is also survived by his sister, Muriel Hanson, of Preston. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert (Red); and two sisters, Phyllis Conlan and Verna Ramsey.
The funeral for Victor will be at 11:00am Friday, October 21, 2016 at the River Park Chapel, Macken Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Ortloff officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 20 from 5:00-7:00PM at River Park Chapel and one hour prior to the funeral on Friday. Burial will be in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Preston.
