The funeral Mass for Cyril A. Delaney will be at 11:00am, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, with Rev. Msgr. Thomas Cook officiating on Friday, October 14, 2016.
A visitation will be held the evening of October 13th, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm, with a rosary vigil service at 7:30pm at Macken Funeral Home, River Park Chapel, along with a visitation one hour prior to funeral services at the church on Friday. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery of Rochester.
Mr. Delaney, 89, of Rochester, died Monday, October 10, 2016, at Cottagewood Senior Communities.
Cyril Delaney was born June 20, 1927, in Chester, MN to James and Ina (Bierbaum) Delaney. He married Mary Schwartz at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church on April 22, 1950. Cyril worked in the laundry room and maintenance for Saint Marys Hospital for 45 years, retiring in 1992. He also worked a second job, for several years, at Continental Bakery.
Cyril loved Fords, fixing cars, helping with family projects and repairs, watching hockey and baseball, working in the garden, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a long time member and supporter of Saint Francis of Assisi Church.
Survivors include children, Steven (Sylvia) of Rochester, Rita (Dean) Rehbein of Sidney, Mont., Ronald (Debra) of Rochester, Ellen of Roseville, Carol Levasseur (Gib Baker) of Rochester, Teresa (Ken) Frazier of Welch, Mark (Christie) of Sidney, Mont., Nancy of Rochester, Paul (Janet) of Rochester, Fred (Lisa) of Rochester, Dean of Rochester, and Karen of Rochester; grandchildren Michael (Pam), Sheila (Shawn) McElmury, Jennifer (Jon) Anderson, Justin (Jamie) Rehbein, Jarvis (Anna) Rehbein, Tony (Erica), Jessica (Adam), Nick, Jeremy (Tami) Levasseur, Heather Levasseur, Scott Levasseur, Jamie Frazier, Kari Frazier, Heidi Frazier, Katie Frazier, Dalyn Petty, Josh, Jason (Kera), Andy, John, Christopher (Nicole), Malissa (Tony) Mallett, Christina (Josh) Chapman; and 29 great-grandchildren, and a sister Leora Becker.
Cyril is preceded in death by his wife Mary, an infant son Edgar, a son-in-law, Steven Levasseur, his brothers Marvin, James, Richard, and Robert Delaney, and his sister Margaret Reed.
