Beverly Ann Hoisington, 86, formerly of Rochester, passed away peacefully and gently on October 24, 2018.
She was born to Marion and Henry Moon on November 27, 1931 and raised in Pine Island Minnesota. She attended St. Catherine’s College and studied library science and later dietary management. Beverly was a long-time resident of Rochester.
She was a faithful member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish and active in many ministries. Beverly was a proud and humbled recipient of the Bishop’s Award for her initiation and involvement in Special Religious Education in the Winona Diocese. Bev was a great advocate for individuals with mental and physical challenges. She loved to garden and had one of the most beautiful flower gardens in the neighborhood. Beverly had many, many friends and deeply loved her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, great-grandson, Tristin Schwoch; grandson, Benjamin Hauschildt; and granddaughter, Megan Davis. Beverly is survived by eight children, Marsha (Steve) Amateis, Steve, Sue, Kaye Hoisington Lantz, Jim (Joan), Brad (Bob Trudeau), Amy (Jeff) Luedke, and Lisa (Kevin) Schwoch; 15 grandchildren, Jill Elias, Joshua Ploetz, Lenny Hoisington, Luke and Ryan Arrigoni, Jessica Ouimet, Mike and Jamie Hoisington, Nicole Moon, Alex Trembley, Nehmafor Sheriff, Jayar and Travis Luedke, and Brandon, Jordon and Dillon Schwoch; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to express gratitude to the staff at White Pines Senior Living in Inver Grove Heights and Grace Hospice for their love and care during her transition from this life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the family.
Liturgy of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018 at The Church of St. Francis of Assisi in Rochester. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 28th in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rosary at 6:30 p.m. led by members of her rosary group. Visitation will also be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Private interment will be in Pine Island, Minnesota immediately following the funeral liturgy.
