Bret Richard Green, age 59, of Grand Meadow died unexpectedly, of natural causes, on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at his home.
Bret was born on February 17, 1959 in Rochester, MN to Janice and Alan Green. He attended John Marshall High School. In his early years, he landscaped at Nature’s Way for ten years. He then was a long haul truck driver who, for the last 15 years, drove for Irlbeck Grain out of Grand Meadow. He married Brenda O’Flaherty on April 28, 1990 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Lake City, MN. They made their home in Rochester until February of 1996 when they moved to Grand Meadow.
Family was most important to Bret. He was a soft-spoken gentle man. He enjoyed spending time at home, fishing and going on vacations. Bret was a DIY carpenter and through the years he tackled many home improvement projects. He was a wonderful man and will be dearly missed by his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda of 28 years; a daughter, Jessica (Logan) Zenker of Rochester; sons, Tyler and Trever of Grand Meadow; grandchildren, Austin and Maddison; brothers, Bruce (Lisa) of Rochester and Brad of Rochester; and nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents; brother, Brian; sister in-law, Karry; maternal and paternal grandparents.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester with Pastor Ann Siverling officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in River Park Chapel. Burial will be in Grand Meadow Cemetery.
