Margery Ann Pierson, 76 of Rochester passed away on February 16, 2018 at Season’s Hospice Home.
Margery Ann Radtke was born in Benson, MN on September 10, 1941 to Arthur and Josie Radtke. Margery graduated from Benson High School in 1959 and went on to work in Rochester, MN at St. Marys Hospital and Mayo Clinic. She married Leo Pierson at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester on April 28, 1962. After retiring in 1991, she spent time volunteering at Rochester Methodist Hospital and Meals on Wheels. Marge and Leo enjoyed many years of RV camping. In 1984, they bought a cabin on Lake Tetonka in Waterville, MN. After selling that cabin in 1994, they missed all the good friends they had met throughout the years, and so in 1997, they bought a Park Model RV and spent summers at Scott’s Campground in Waterville, MN. They wintered in Lake Havasu, AZ. Marge’s fondest memories were of a six week trip taken by motor home to Alaska. She also enjoyed spending a winter in Texas as well as shorter trips to Florida and Missouri. Marge had a hobby of collecting country music. She also enjoyed playing cards, dancing, and having lots of good times with friends and family.
Marge is survived by her husband Leo of 55 years, two daughters: Teresa “Tess” (Bob) Minkema of Medina, MN and Mona (Brad) Norman of Stewartville, MN, four grandchildren: Evan and Ehren Minkema and Ben (Anna) Norman and Elizabeth (Burton) Wacholtz, a great-grandson: Caleb Wacholtz, and a sister-in-law: Donna Radtke of Morris, MN.
She is preceded in death by her sister Vera (Lyle) Mallan of Rochester, two brothers: Delmer Radtke of Danvers, MN and Dennis Radtke of Morris, MN, and her parents.
The Memorial Mass for Margery will be held starting at 11:00am at Resurrection Catholic Church in Rochester on Friday, February 23, 2018 with Father Peter Schuster officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the Mass at church. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
