Born July 27, 1968, Mark Danielson died unexpectedly January 2018. He was 49 years old.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Barbara and Howard Borgen of Rochester; brother, Mike (Lisa) Danielson of Tonka Bay, MN; and sister, Deborah (Mike) Erickson of Duluth, MN. Mark is also survived by two nephews, Matthew and Garrett Hacking; and three nieces, Alyssa and Misty Danielson and Christina Hacking. He is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Duane Danielson.
Mark had a brilliant mind and a quick wit. He earned his BS in biochemistry at the University of Minnesota and earned his PhD in molecular biophysics at the University of Colorado - Boulder. He was an NIH postdoctoral fellow at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Mark enjoyed the outdoors, biking, fishing, scuba diving, and skiing. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and will be greatly missed.
Memorials are suggested to a charity of the donor’s choice.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, January 31, 2018 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Bryan-Wegner officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Rochester.
