Charles Churchward passed away January 31, 2025 in Minneapolis after an illness.
Chuck was born in Rochester, MN to Warren and Esther Churchward and resided in Dodge Center, MN for most of his life. He most recently lived in Isanti, MN. He married Marilyn Briggs on August 3, 1974 and they were blessed with 6 children. He was a carpenter, boiler mechanic, and stay at home dad. He liked to tinker with cars, especially his 1968 Camaro Z28. He loved nature, history and antiques. Above all he loved his family. Chuck was gentle, kind and loved by many. He loved his dogs, watching the deer in his backyard and road trips exploring the countryside.
He is survived by his wife, 6 children, Glade (Melissa) Churchward of Albert Lea, MN; Eric Churchward living in China; Nina (Jake) Partyka of North Branch, MN; Amanda(Jon Louks) Churchward of Albert Lea, MN; Cassandra Churchward of Owatonna, MN; and Adam Churchward of Owatonna, MN;9 grandchildren, Alex Churchward, Mackenzie (Jake) Eyen, Kylie Churchward, Emma Partyka, Mabel Partyka, Lennon Partyka, Freya Partyka, Brandt Louks and Brantley Churchward and 1 great-grand child, Charlotte Eyen; a brother, Frank Churchward of Chatfield, MN; 3 sisters, Joan Phelps of Kasson, MN; Sharon Sharp of Pullman, WA and Cynthia Sturgis of Wanamingo, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren and Esther Churchward, a sister, Claryce McColley, 1 sister-in-law, Eileen Churchward and 5 brothers-in-law, David Briggs, Edward Phelps, David McColley, Glen Sharp and Joseph Sturgis.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, on February 6, 2025, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home, 1105 12th St. SE, Rochester with Pastor Kris Ferkin officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center, MN. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
