Evelyn A. Larson – Rochester

Evelyn “Evie” Ardis Larson passed away peacefully at the age of 92 at Chosen Valley Care Center in Chatfield MN. Evie was born on February 26, 1932, in Lanesboro MN to Paul and Mabel Topnesss. She grew up on the family farm in Lanesboro and was the oldest of three girls (twin sisters Vienna and Vivian).

Evie loved bowling, participating in leagues in Rochester, Preston and Rushford and also traveled to Las Vegas for tournaments. She loved her cats and loved feeding the birds, especially her hummingbirds and the many other animals she raised and nurtured. Throughout her life she also loved to camp, bike, play darts (especially with Charlie), pool league, play slots at the casinos and many other games. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and all her family. She loved to cook family meals and bake for everyone and play games with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Evie was an active member of Bethel Lutheran Church in Rochester and Bethlehem Lutheran in Lanesboro and the American Legion Auxiliary in Lanesboro. She was a master lefse maker for the churches and all her family as well.

Evie graduated from Lanesboro High School in 1951. She was united in marriage to Everett Ardell Williams on May 6, 1953. They moved to Fort Carson Colorado and then back to Minnesota and started their business K-9 Kennels in 1960 in Rochester. After Everett’s death in 1983 she continued to live in Rochester until she married Charlie Larson in 1988 and moved back to Lanesboro.

She was preceded in death by her husbands Everett and Charlie, siblings Vienna and Vivian and special friend Dewey Hungerholt.

She is survived by her children Dan (Jane) Williams, Mike (Wendy Leuth) Williams, Kevin (Kris) Williams and Brenda (Kevin) Seisler, 12 grandchildren Cally, Kyle, Shauna, Alisha, Kagan, Sarah, Zachary, Mackenzie, Drew, Colton, Skylee and Taris and 15 great-grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held at 1:30p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2024, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home officiated by Pastor Linda Helberg, followed by a Celebration of Life from 2:00pm to 5:00pm in the River Park Reception Hall connected to the chapel.  Please join us to share your memories of our beloved Evie.
