Jean (Meadows) Roth
Jean Roth, Trixie as her friends called her, 84, of Rochester MN, died Nov 26, 2023, after a battle with dementia.
She was born on August 12, 1939, to Evelyn Meadows in Nebraska, later moving back to the La Crosse WI area nearer to extended family.
Jean attended La Crosse WI Central High School, graduating in 1957. She met the love of her life, Tom Roth, while she was still in middle school, and they were married in 1960. Tom and Jean moved to Rochester MN and had three children, Sue, Pat and Tim. She was a great mom to her kids as well as to the countless children that could call her their second mom during her 25 plus years as a day care provider. She was devoted to her faith and taught all her children to be respectful and kind.
Over the years Tom and Jean (aka Wifey) traveled all over the country with their family in a little camper, later upgrading to a larger motorhome. They retired early and were able to travel in their RV and by motorcycle, rarely missing the annual Sturgis bike rally over 40 years, her last trip being 4 years ago at the age of 80. They spent their winters in Arizona for more than 25 years.
Jean is survived by beloved husband of 63 years, Tom, daughters Sue (Tom) Brytowski and Pat (Chris) Adamson, son Tim (Kelly) Roth, grandchildren Jakob (Hannah Huff) and Jessica (Shawn Staples) Brytowski, Spencer and Christian Adamson, Hannah, Will and Luke Roth along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn Meadows, sister, Betty Gossett and many good friends.
Visitation will be at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Rochester, on Thursday, December7th, 2023, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. with the funeral Mass at 11:00. The burial at Oronoco Cemetery will follow Mass. A celebration of life begins after the burial.
