James Allen Baker, 68, formerly of Red Wing, passed away on May 26th, 2016 at his home in Lakewood, Colorado.
Jim was born on June 11, 1948 in Alameda, California to Helen and Robert Baker. He and his mother moved to Red Wing, Minnesota in 1950, at the age of two. He graduated from Red Wing Central High School in 1966. He was drafted into the US Army in 1968 and served in Vietnam for a year and ultimately retired as a career Army veteran. Jim married Alice, and had two children. The couple was later divorced. He later married Joyce Krogstad on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 2014 in Lakewood, Colorado. Together, the couple resided there until Jim’s passing from cancer.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce of Rochester, MN; his daughter, Trina Baker of Seattle, WA and his son, Trent Baker of Hager City, WI.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Nelson.
A Memorial Service honoring Jim will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016 at 1:00pm in the River Park Chapel of Macken Funeral Home (1119 11 1/2 Street SE Rochester, MN 55904). Relatives and friends are invited for the visitation one hour prior to the service.
