Thongdam Sithisane, 86 of St. Charles died Sunday, June 19, 2022 peacefully at her home. Thongdam was born on November 20, 1935 to Siean and Mong Khambounheuang in Laos.
She married Bouakham Sithisane. In 1975, she and her family fled Laos to Thailand. In 1980, they moved their family to the United States, settling in Ohio. In 1982 they moved to California, moving to St. Charles in 1985. Thongdam worked for North Star Foods then moved to Freeport, IL to work for the Vitner Company. Following their retirement, Thongdam and Bouakham returned to St. Charles. There are many words to describe Thongdam- a few being; kind-hearted, warm and welcoming, compassionate, brave, loyal, and quite the busy bee. There was a running joke in the family stating, “if she had learned how to drive, we would never see her.”
She is survived by six daughters; Noulam Phongphatoumsy of California, Jumpy Suphasorn of Thailand, Khoonmany Sengthongphet and Manivanh Linthakhanh of St. Charles, Jackie Cruz of Rochester, Kaelie Capehart of Kansas City, 20 grandchildren, and 27 great-grandchildren; siblings: Duan Khambounheuang, Suewan Khambounheuang, Som Khambounheuang all of Loas and Siet Khambounheuang of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bouakham Sithisane.
