Carolyn Helene Jansen, 72, of Oronoco, MN, died Thursday, July 29th, 2021, at Methodist Hospital in Rochester, MN.
Carolyn was born December 4th, 1948, in Red Wing, MN, to Harold and Helene (Klossner) Borgschatz. She graduated from Pine Island High School in 1967. On August 16th, 1969, she married the love of her life, Thomas, in Rochester, MN. The couple lived in Rochester until 1974 when they moved to Oronoco, MN. Carolyn attended nursing school, and she then worked at Methodist Hospital, Pine Haven, home daycare, and Charter House. She retired in 2015, but she still continued working there until the time of her illness.
Carolyn loved being with family. She enjoyed fishing, gambling, traveling, and having coffee with her friends and coworkers.
She is survived by her loving husband, Thomas, of 52 years; her daughters Karen (Steve) Archer and Debbie (Dewey) Gerken; her grandchildren; Jake, Zeb, Ashley, Glen, Jena, Heavenly, and Richard; and her great grandsons; Talon, Jaxon, and Lawson. She is preceded in death by her parents and her son, Jeff.
She had four brothers: Bruce (Mary), Bill (Diane), Chuck, and Dan (Hanna) Borgschatz. One sister: Candace (Lee) Underwood. She also had many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2021 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Pine Island, MN. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Pine Island Cemetery.
