Arvie Leroy Greer, 88 of Rochester, passed away peacefully on Friday, July 16, 2021 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, Methodist Campus.
Arvie was born on August 14, 1932 in Zumbro Falls, MN to Vernon and Mary (Komisar) Greer. He graduated from Lake City High School in 1950 followed by Dunwoody Institute of Minneapolis, where he graduated with a degree in Electronics. He served in the US Army from 1953 until his honorable discharge in 1955. Arvie married Arlene Hinrichs on February 14, 1959 in Goodhue, MN. Mr. Greer was a Business Machine Sales and Serviceman for Beckley’s for 41 years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church. He enjoyed his family, fishing, hunting and gardening.
Survivors include his wife Arlene of Rochester, two sons Bruce (Susan) of Madison, WI, Todd (Leah) of Sartell, MN, daughter Jean (Bill) Kintzler of Lebanon, TN, seven grandchildren Kevin Greer, Andy Greer, Michael Greer, Holly Greer, Nicolas Greer, Aaron Kintzler, and Jason Kintzler, and his brother Joyce Greer of Lake City, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Ida Graham and brother Lawrence Greer.
A private Memorial Service for Arvie will be held at Grace Lutheran Church. Burial will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Rochester, MN.
