Jeanne Karen Volz, 75 of Rochester, passed away peacefully on February 6, 2021 at Saint Marys Hospital.
Jeanne Karen Seger was born on March 2, 1945 in Faribault, MN to Vern and Grace (West) Seger. She graduated from Faribault High School. She then attended Mankato State University and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Education. In 1968, she married John E. Volz. Several years later, the couple moved to Chatfield, MN and Jeanne began teaching at St. Charles High School. For over 17 years, she taught English at the high school. Being a teacher, with her summers free, she could be found in her garden on a daily basis. The couple moved to Rochester in the early 1990’s, where she taught in the Rochester School District. She was a lifelong, energetic fan of the Minnesota Twins. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her husband John of Rochester, sons Tim of Rochester, Edward of Seattle, WA; grandchildren Kendra and Emma; and sister Mary Wendalin.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Kathryn.
The Memorial Service for Jeanne will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:00AM in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Chapel. Her ashes will be laid to rest in Faribault, MN at a later date.
