Daniel Joseph Pyfferoen known as “Hambone” by family and friends was 60 years old, from Byron, MN passed away at 10:56 pm on December 31st from injuries sustained in a car accident in rural Byron, MN.
Dan was born on November 30th, 1956 in Rochester, MN and graduated from Byron High School in 1976 and was a forever resident of Byron. He was married to Laurie Starr. He owned his own excavating company and loved what he did. His sense of humor, work ethic and dedication to his family and friends is something we will all remember and cherish. Dan enjoyed snowmobiling, motorcycling (really anything with an engine) helping others and spending time with family and friends.
Dan is survived by his son Joel (Samantha) Pyfferoen of Byron, daughter Julia (Jacob) Bruender of Rochester, mother Betty Pyfferoen of Rochester, five Sisters : Patricia (Mark) Mehrhoff of Glendale, Az., Mary (Paul) Sutton of Dodge Center, Ann (Jim Melville) of Mantorville, Christine (Dave) Walters of Osage, Ia., Ruth (Michael) Johnson of Kasson, four brothers, Thomas (Denise) of Pine Island, Peter (Carol ) of Oronoco, Paul (Carmen) of Byron and Todd (Michelle) of Byron, special friends Pete and Brenda Exe. Dan is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Dan is preceded in death by father, Glynn Pyfferoen, one brother Michael Pyfferoen and brother-in-law Al Polikowsky (Pat).
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 am in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 pm Friday, January 6, 2017 in River Park Chapel and also one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
