Freeland C. (Terp) Terpenning passed away on December 26, 2016 at Madonna Towers nursing facility.
Terp was born on November 28, 1923 in Colesville, NY to Carl and Marion (Magaw) Terpenning.
He enlisted in the Army Air Corps directly after high school graduation in 1942 where he served in the Army Air Corps as Staff Sgt. and radar operator in the 4th Emergency Rescue Squadron. He was honorably discharged in December 1945.
Freeland married Viola Stanton in 1946. They have one daughter who resides in Rochester, MN.
Terp was hired on at IBM in 1953 and four years later moved his family to Rochester where he continued working until his retirement.
Freeland is survived by his wife, Viola; daughter, Linda; grandchildren, Dorinda (Troy) Williams, Jerry Holtorf Jr. and Dawn Holtorf; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Visitation will be held at 11:00AM Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the River Park Chapel Macken Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens with Military Rites provided by American Legion Post #92.
Every person Terp met was considered a good friend.
