Beatrice Doretta Klavetter, 87 passed away peacefully on October 6, 2020 at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Beatrice Doretta Loppnow was born on July 16, 1933 in rural St. Charles, MN to Henry and Elsie (Kroening) Loppnow.
Bea grew up in on a farm in the St. Charles area and moved with her family to Rochester, where she graduated from Rochester High School in 1951. On August 28, 1954 she married Wyman Klavetter at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Rochester. Bea worked as a Telephone Operator for Bell Co., then Switchboard Operator for the Kahler Hotel, retiring in 1998. In retirement, her passion was volunteering at the Rochester Ronald McDonald House. She enjoyed camping, traveling, and spending time with her many friends and family.
She is survived by her children Linda (Tim) Fields, Kevin (Mun) Klavetter, Kim (Chris) Johnson, John (Kathy) Klavetter all of Rochester, nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren, and her brother Richard (Jo) Loppnow of rural Lake City, MN.
She is Preceded in death by her husband Wyman (1991), her granddaughter Gretchen Bea Klavetter.
The Memorial Service for Bea will be held on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 2:00pm in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Shawn Haremza officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, in the chapel. Burial of Bea’s ashes will be in the St. Joachim Catholic Cemetery in Plainview, MN.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Rochester Ronald McDonald House.
