Ruth Winslow, 86, of Rochester, MN died August 27th, 2020. She was born on July 12, 1934 to Frank and Ellen Steinhorst of Dunnell, MN. She lived there until 1947 and moved to Ostrander, MN, with her folks and two brothers. She went to Spring Valley High School. In 1952 she married George on his leave from the army. He left for Korea the 1st of August for 16 months. Ruth went to Fairmont and stayed with her sister. She worked in a jewelry store until George got home in 1954. Then they moved back to Spring Valley and she had many different jobs. In 1962 Ruth and George moved to Rochester where she worked at Farm and Home for 13 years, and Clothing Care for 13 years before retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed baking, cards, crafts, and also going to the casino. She very much enjoyed her grandchildren Tiffany and Stacy. She enjoyed seeing and playing with all her great grandkids.
She is survived by her 3 children: Debra Eggert of Eyota, Tamara (Dave Sherwin) Bartsch, and Todd Winslow of Rochester; two grandchildren: Stacy Estby, Tiffany (Gene) Schneider; and five great-grandchildren: Kiersten, Kylie, Kolbie, Osman and Nova.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George Winslow; two brothers: Don and Evertt Steinhorst; two brothers-in-law Ray: Fris and Norman Woods; and two grandchildren: Cassie Estby and Luke Sherwin.
The memorial gathering will be held from 1:00 – 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 1, 2020 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
