Allan James Adair, 73, of Rochester, MN, died Sunday, July 19, 2020 at St. Marys Hospital of cancer.
Allan was born at Garfield Memorial Hospital in Washington D.C. on November 17, 1946 to James Reid Adair and Doris Jean (Porteus) Adair. On June 24, 1978 he married Sandra Krossen at East Immanuel Church in St. Paul, MN. Allan was working at IBM in Boca Raton, FL before he transferred to work at IBM in Rochester, MN as a Systems Analyst. He also worked at Schmidt Printing in Byron. Allan always said he wanted to work at Mayo Clinic which he was able to do in the Medical Records Department.
He enjoyed driving his car, watching movies, and taking trips to Treasure Island Casino. Allan also loved the outdoors and liked going fishing, canoeing, and camping.
Allan is survived by his wife, Sandra; sister, Carolyn (Forrest) Emery of Riverview, FL; and brother, Joseph (Geneva) of Walker, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Doris Adair.
Allan’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Marys Hospital and the hospice team. They were so caring and compassionate to Allan.
The funeral service for Allan will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020 in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Masks are required. Burial will be in Grandview Memorial Gardens in Rochester.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the family.
