Robert Hagen, 93 passed away June 18, 2020 in Rochester, MN.
Bob was born at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester MN on January 21, 1927 to Orville and Laura (Spicer) Hagen.
Bob grew up and attended schools in Rochester. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1944. He served his country for four years. He spent time aboard the USS Appalachian and took part in Bikini Island atomic bomb testings. Bob was a very proud WWII veteran. Bob was a member of the American Legion and the Eagles Club.
After the Navy Bob returned to Rochester and married Delores Aaby on October 22, 1949 at Zumbro Lutheran Church. Bob and Delores were married for 70 years and raised three children together. Bob worked in the printing industry in Rochester. He worked at Schmidt Printing for many years. He also served as plant superintendent at Davies Printing Company until his retirement in 1991.
Bob enjoyed golfing with his coworkers. He was a member of Master Swimmers. Bob also competed in many triathlons well into his retirement years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Delores; daughter, Julie (John) Schreiber of Hudson, FL, daughter-in-law, Libby Hagen of Rochester, son, Ron (Cari) Hagen of Rochester; four grandchildren: Katie (Chris) Hartley, Nick (Nicole) Hagen, Liz Hagen all of Rochester, Joe (Elaine) Hagen of London, England; as well as three great-grandchildren: Noah and Lucas Hagen and Evie Hartley.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Orvie and his son Larry.
The Hagen family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Edenbrook of Rochester as well Mayo Clinic Hospice.
A memorial service will be Wednesday, June 24, 2020 at 11:00AM in River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Bryan-Wegner officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Grandview Memorial Gardens.
